More than half the Earth’s rainforests have been lost permanently due to insatiable human demand for building space, wood, medicine, North America is in the top three countries when it comes to having the least deforestation. Very few of our forests are being cut down. Good? Not particularly. The U.S has less than 14% of rural areas already, and those places are becoming urban civilizations extremely fast. It is estimated that by 2030, less than 10% of the U.S will be rural. That’s not the worst part, though. We’re not exactly helping any of the other continents either, especially South America and Africa. The United States is hiring/sending out people to cut down forests worldwide so we can have the things we want. But wanting something isn’t as important as needing. We need forests. Ever heard of the atmosphere? The air we breathe has oxygen, and that’s something that’s essential for us to survive. It comes from plants, and with fewer rainforests and a growing human population, troubles going to catch up with us really soon. The Amazon rain forest produces over twenty percent of the oxygen we breathe, and with its plant life being killed for wood, building space, and other things... we’re in for a tough time when mankind fully understands what they’ve done. In addition, deforestation isn’t just destroying trees and plant-life... it’s destroying animals’ homes. Mammals, reptiles, arachnids... it’s affecting the whole animal kingdom. If we keep this up, our world could become a polluted wasteland. Please support me in saving the rainforests of the world and seeding new plant-life. I want to make this world a better place. Maybe not in my lifetime, but for my posterity. I am determined. Are you? Join me in my mission by donating today.
